WELCOME

Contemplative.  Compassionate.  Connected.

Welcome to Stillpoint

We are a small contemplative community with an accent on providing a beautiful space in which you can find healing and hope, while you explore the love of God in an inclusive, respectful and non-judgemental way.

We are a community connecting with others and the wider church.
We offer a diverse range of spiritual opportunities including musical therapy, meditation during worship, fortnightly newsletter, library, pastoral care, spiritual direction, Stories from the Soul resource, Taste and See Contemplative Prayer, and Mindful Movement & Meditation.

Stillpoint is a resource centre for the promotion of spirituality and mysticism. It operates within the Mission and Resourcing sector of the Uniting Church Synod in South Australia. The centre offers resources and opportunities to exercise body, mind and soul, while creating a space of beauty, which nurtures human wellbeing and flourishing.

We are located at the delightful Christ Church Uniting Church, 26 King William Road, Wayville. Our office hours are Thursdays between 10-2 pm, or you are welcome to phone Frances on 0407 687 311.

WORSHIP

The Stillpoint Faith Community is an inclusive, ecumenical, contemplative and compassionate community, which operates within the Uniting Church of South Australia. It is a small community offering a refreshing, rich spiritual perspective to enable seekers to deepen their spiritual connection with the creator and all of creation.

The Faith Community holds a regular worship service between 6.00-7.00pm on the second Sunday of each month. Each service is preceded by a Covid safe time of conversation and caring over a cuppa at 5.30pm. We invite you to join us and experience your ultimate reality at the ‘Stillpoint’, where in the words of poet, T S Elliot, ‘time present, time past and time future all meet’.

ABOUT US

The Stillpoint Spirituality Centre and Faith Community are both unique because they operate within what is known as the ‘thin place’. This is where the physical, spiritual and mystical dimensions meet. It is here in this ‘sweet spot’ that we are free to open ourselves to the divine, and truly able to ‘taste and see that the Lord is good!’

Stillpoint is a multi-faith, ecumenical spiritual community that reaches out to all faiths and traditions. In our worship services, the focus is primarily on silence and simplicity. It is in silence and simplicity that the practice of contemplation and meditation opens us up to an intimate relationship with the divine.

Stillpoint promotes the practice of spirituality. While there has been much debate on the difference between spirituality and religion, spirituality can be summed up as being the experience of a deeply personal relationship with the divine as opposed to a relationship passed down through religious traditions and the experience of others.

Stillpoint is also a resource centre for the promotion of spirituality. We have a library containing numerous books and videos, which are available on loan. We have a portable labyrinth, which is available for hire. We hold retreats and conduct a contemplative worship service on the second Sunday evening of each month commencing at 5:30pm with a socially distanced time of fellowship.

The Stillpoint Spirituality Centre and Faith Community is ably lead by a board and is served by a team of inspiring worship leaders, with a variety of accredited qualifications but who graciously work in a voluntary capacity.
